BLACK CAT PUBLISHER PROJECT
Picture
I created this book cover using Photoshop, photos from Pexels.com, and fonts from 1001fonts.com and dafonts.com. This project was initially done to have content to place into the book publisher website I was designing and building as a project for one of my university classes. You can see some of the content below. The site is still live, and can be visited HERE.

POET JUDITH ROITMAN POSTER
The University of Houston Victoria held an annual art series where poets did lectures and performed pieces of their work. The competition was for Communication Design students to create a poster to advertise poet Judith Roitman's event and showcase her poem. The design needed to be suitable for printing using a cylinder Vandercook letterpress. They wanted minimal imagery, and the focus to be on the poem itself. We were also supposed to pay close attention to the typography and setting of the type itself. My design won the competition. It was created using Adobe Photoshop. The font is Alpaca Scarlett Demo.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY POSTER

Advanced Design project commemorating noteworthy women for the holiday. This project was done in Photoshop. Images were edited to mimic the color scheme of the IWD logo. To the right of the poster I've included the original images for comparison of the changes that I made. At the bottom of this section I've referenced where the photos were originally borrowed from in order to give credit.

VICTORIA COUNTY TREASURER CAMPAIGN
For Jennifer Rick Foster

I was hired by Jennifer Rick Foster to build and design a website for her campaign using a Drupal-based system that was offered by the Democratic Party.  (It was horrible, but I got through it. Ha ha.) She had specific color choices and fonts that she wanted to use. In addition, I did photo editing and identity branding for her, such as signs, push cards, etc. I know that this uses Impact font, which is a no-no these days. However, back that it was specifically what she had asked to be used. Customer gets what the customer wants. :)

The campaign has since ended, so the website is no longer active.

JOURNEY STORIES WEBSITE
For the Smithsonian Institute's traveling exhibit at the VC/UHV Library

The exhibit was a physical exhibit on display at the library for several weeks, and the website was meant to demonstrate what events would be happening, some of the graphics available for view, and some of the stories that locals shared about their migrations to get where they are now as well.

This website was created using Weebly and one of their templates. The images and logos, were provided by the Smithsonian Institute as well as the VC/UHV Library.

Due to the temporary nature of the exhibit at the library the website is no longer active.

Vela Farms
The students of my design program met with the owner of Vela Farms. She asked our class to design sell sheets for her new product that was coming out or rather a re-branding of it. It needed to be two-sided, showcase the product, give instructions for use, tell about Vela Farms, include her "On the Square" logo, and then also showcase some things about product. If memory serves, I designed this with Photoshop. I tried to use eye-appealing colors that fit in the same palette she had used in her logo. I also tried to draw attention to the product with the background leading to it like a starburst. If I were to redo it again, I think I would have made the Title and subtitle fonts try to match one of the fonts on her logo.
