Whisper sweet nothings in my ear

Quiet night

sitting in the living room

by the sparkly lights of the Christmas tree.

Thoughts skittering across my brain

little nothing thoughts

about hopes and dreams

of things that may or may not come to pass.

You sit next to me,

quiet like the night itself

sprawled out.

Happy little thing that you are

although frightened of everything

including your own shadow.

What am I waiting for?

The Ants

A sweet aroma wafting through the halls

For over a mile they can sense it

And they crawl

Though I smell nothing at all

Into the room I enter

Finding their tiny carcasses strewn

Stuck to a glue trap meant for a mouse

But he never came for dinner

Cold metal

Isolated.
Suffocated.
Wishing I was intoxicated.
Maybe the pain would go away.

Overwhelming melancholy.
Pressure.
Cornered.
Cold metal pressed on a sweaty forehead.

Breathe.
Open eyes.
Drop it.
I'm fine.

Walk away...and smile.

I'm ready

smile at me
and make my day
cry in sadness
and i'm destroyed

stay with me
so i can touch you
my fingertips yearn
for the sensation

my heart melts
i wish to breathe you in
overwhelm me
go ahead

i'm ready

Sleep for me

Sleep for me
Don’t keep me awake
Rest for just a minute
Because you might dream

Sleep for me
Don’t cry tonight
I want to see your lids tremble
As visions dance behind them

Sleep for me
Sweet baby child
Tonight we’ll dream
Of only the good things
