- Beginning of June Update

Hi there!
Don't have a whole lot going on, except to say that I'm plugging along on my commissions. I start my next two classes in about a week. I'm going out of town next weekend. Unfortunately its more for business then for pleasure. But that's ok. Just going to Columbus.
Also I should mention that I'm not accepting commissions for Christmas. You need to get them in early if you'd like to have them ...

Yay!!!! Today has been a pretty good day. I'm finally getting to do some relaxing after about a month of straight working. I still have some commissions left to finish, but I'm starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel at least. Ha ha.
It will be slightly short lived though as I start some more classes in mid June. But if I can get my commissions done before then it'll be ...

- Artwork published in ICON journal!!
-
Yay! I got one of my pieces published in ICON journal. I'm very excited about this. For those who aren't familiar, ICON is a journal that is published by Kent State. I have been published in them several times before. But the competition was really tough this time around. I wasn't sure I was going to get in. But I'm really glad that I did!

Well, I'm very excited that my website is doing so well! But I still have a lot of goals and plans for myself to achieve this year. Already we find ourselves in the third month of the year and I can't help but wonder what in the world happened to February? Originally I had a plan of uploading an art drawing every day for the month of March. But I'm finding that my schedule is ...

- This weekend...

So this weekend is about working on my latest comission project and hopefully getting it completed. Also I'm going to be doing some homework for class. That one's really important because it's due on Monday. Yikes!
I also wanted to say thanks to all the folks who have recently checked out my site, or who have been regular return visitors! I really appreciate your visits. I've been lucky enough to have visitors from 10 different ...

- Artist Review: Liu Ye
-
Today’s artist review is of Liu Ye. I happened across his stuff while leafing through an old issue of Artforum International. The reason why his work stood out to me was because it was an image of a cartoony looking figure that was advertising his exhibition. This is unusual for Artforum because they generally show things that are Artsy Fartsy looking and require lots of thought to figure out ...

- Artist Review: Lisa Falzon
-
A young artist from Malta with a truly European touch to illustration. Her work reminds me of Tim Burton with the color usage of the movie What Dreams May Come and then occasionally add an adult theme twist. I think her work intrigues me because its so different than what I'm used to seeing from American artists. It just has a certain oddity to it, but a lot of it is eye appealing and thoughtfully ...

- Artist Review: Hu Ming
-
Hu Ming is an artist originally from China now residing in Australia. Her background is incredibly interesting considering she was a part of the Communist military during the time that Mao was in power. The interesting thing about Mao, if you're unaware, is that he was able to take a land in turmoil and get it to unite together. Granted it was a communist government and there were a lot of people who suffered at ...

So, I finally got my lazy tucus (it's a word - shut up) to Fed Ex Kinkos and got some of my larger artwork scanned. I have my own scanner but the darn thing is so small anything larger than 9 x 12 and I'm out of luck. So I thought I would post one of the projects that I did in my 2D comp class.
The project was doing some sort of a ...
