Untitled document Hello Boys and Girls!
I was just wondering how your December is going? I think this is actually the first semester that I've had where I was sad to see it end. I took a playwriting class for fun this time around plus it fulfilled my writing intensive requirement, but I have one class left to go as this is finals ...

- Blogging Every Day Is Difficult!
-
Hi There:
So I've realized just how difficult it is to blog everyday when you actually have a life. Ha! I've had the most difficult time trying to figure out what the heck to talk about each night hence the reason why I have been getting these up so late. But the other reason has been that all week long I've been extremely exhausted or haven't felt well so I've been laying down to sleep ...

- New Projects
-
Hey there!
Working on a lot of projects right now.... among them are a new original character. Not entirely sure what all I'm going to do with this character, but I'd like to do something along the lines of Hello Kitty or Emily the Strange. I'm not sure I want to go as far as creating story books for this character, we'll just have to see. I might do something like that.
Other projects going ...

- Artist Review: Liu Ye
-
Today’s artist review is of Liu Ye. I happened across his stuff while leafing through an old issue of Artforum International. The reason why his work stood out to me was because it was an image of a cartoony looking figure that was advertising his exhibition. This is unusual for Artforum because they generally show things that are Artsy Fartsy looking and require lots of thought to figure out ...

- Allyson Update
-
So, it's been a little while since I've done a blog. And that is mostly because I started class and also because I've been having some family issues.
As far as the family issues go, my daughter, who is 6 wound up in the hospital with pnuemonia in both lungs and in 3 different places, and she had RSV on top of that. Ewwwww. But she is doing so much better now. She is back ...

- Is it too early for Christmas?
-
I made this video a while back. It's basically just a collage of photos that I put together through one media? True Media? I don't know what its called. At any rate.... here it is.

- that thing called life
-
Hi,
So I haven't written one of these in a little while. Although, if I go back and look at the actual date that I wrote the last one I'll probably find it was a week ago. Because that seems to be what keeps happening to me. I feel like its been forever since I've written, and then, oh, it was just last week.
Things going on.... Riley had her first play at school. She ...

- Can you say reunion?
-
Hi Everyone:
Yes, its that time of life for me. Ten years I've been out of high school, and now I'm going to my reunion on November 27. I'm more than a little bit apprehensive especially considering that the vast majority of people that I hung out with in high school will not be coming.
This was rather disappointing to me, most especially because if I had known that prior to sending my ...

- Tokyo House and Superman
-
Well, I must say I'm looking forward to going to Tokyo House tomorrow. Riley is going to Grandma Hibbard's and Lenny is staying with Grandma Clute. I'm really kind of wishing I could hurry up and get through the next few months so that it can be Christmas.
Which is kind of funny when you consider how much I despise winter and yet I love Christmas. This is probably due to the fact that ...

- Labor day weekend
-
This whole not hanging out with friends thing is really starting to get on my nerves. Don't get me wrong I like hanging out with family and all, but sometimes it would be nice to hang out with friends on a weekend night with no kids or even with kids!
The sad thing is I don't really know what I can do about it. I mean my God it's been how many years since ...

- Lenny update
-
So, I made a new discovery today. While giving Lenny his crackers today I not only felt little sharp bitey things on the bottom of his mouth but also on the top of his mouth. I thought surely I was mistaken.
But then later in the day when Lenny was laughing there they were. Two white lines breaking through his upper gums. Two more teeth! Good heavens. And as with the other two teeth ...

- Kindergarten orientation
-
Wow. Hubbard seems to have a lot of kindergartners this year. They have 7 classes each with I think 18 kids. Which by some school's standards I suppose isn't very much. But for the little town of Hubbard I think it's pretty good.
Orientation went well today. We sat in the auditorium, and got to see all of the kindergarten teachers, as well as the principal, the school nurse, the guidance counselor, the transportation ...

- Riley's Screening
-
I thought since I told you guys about Riley's screening test for kindergarten I should let you know how she did.
She went into the classroom with the teacher Miss Stiver, and the test covers six sections of literacy. Things like rhyming, finding the picture that starts with the sound, identifying letters, seeing how many she can identify in a minute, etc.
The whole test took about twenty to thirty minutes. The teacher ...

- Lenny's Surprise
-
So, today I noticed Lenny kept making this weird face. I had never seen him make it before. And now that I'm doing this blog I really wish I would have snapped a picture. But basically he kept pushing his mouth and jaw together really really tightly and it made his lips kind of pop out like a duck. And I kept going what in the world are you doing Lenny. And then we went ...

- Little Riley Riding Hood
-
So today I was reminiscing about when Riley was little. For instance when I wished I hadn't gotten her hooked on binkies. She was so low maintenance. No fussiness at all. No troubles falling asleep or anything. You just had to make sure that you got her bottles to her on time. If you were late on that it was the end of the world until you stuck it in her mouth. Ha.

- Sleep for me
-
Sleep for me
Don’t keep me awake
Rest for just a minute
Because you might dream
Sleep for me
Don’t cry tonight
I want to see your lids tremble
As visions dance behind them
Sleep for me
Sweet baby child
Tonight we’ll dream
Of only the good things
