In the End

In the end all anyone really wants is to belong, to find their place in this world. As much as I love my computer and all the technologically advanced things that we have today, I have to say that I'm sad about it at the same time. It seems to have replaced going outside into the world, going places to meet people, seeing friends face to face, or even just calling them on the phone in a lot of instances. Why do they need to bother with sites like facebook, twitter, and myspace? They can see your whole life displayed right there on their screen; no need for interaction really, besides clicking the "like" button.

Yet, we just had Thanksgiving, and I'm glad it still exists because people hopefully still get together for this tradition of gathering. I just wish the same could be said about friends, sometimes. Making new friends seems like a really difficult task anymore. It's hard to find folks who say hi just to be polite. We are too busy with our noses in our iphones, and texting.

It might make me sound old but I still remember what it was like before everyone had a cell phone. And sometimes, I kind of miss it.
