Oh geez. I am really really liking the sound of this band. I've had their songs stuck in my head for about 3 days now, and its too the point where its the background music for my dreams at night. And then I watch the videos, and I can't help but stare at the lead singer. I'm enamored with something about his body movements and facial expressions. The thing about it that makes me sad is I don't think that's really him. I think that's just what he does when he performs. Its his "thing." I'd be more taken if that's what he was like in real life. Those kind of people I find interesting. I'm actually one of those people, but I've learned to assimilate into society and only bring it out with the people that I trust the most. Ha. You know who you are.
So I haven't done a music post in awhile. But tonight I'm going to because my next installment of The Girl with Red Hair and Sapphire Eyes is still in the works. Sorry.
Anyways, here's how my music posts work for those of you who haven't seen them from me because you're new. I post the lyrics. You read the lyrics first. Then you go down and watch the you tube version. Hopefully at this point you've already heard the song. I like to do these because so many times you just listen to the music but never pay attention to what it means. I like to make people think. I like to make me think.
So here's the lyrics....
Tonight I’ll have a look
And try to find my face again
Buried beneath this house
My spirit screams and dies again
Out back a monster wears a cloak of Persian leather
Behind the TV screen
I've fallen to my knees
I said you got me where you want me again
And I can’t turn away
I'm hanging by thread and I'm feelin’ like a fool
I'm stuck here in-between
The shadows of my yesterday
I want to get away
I need to get away
Blanket of silence
Makes me want to sink my teeth in deep
Burn all the evidence
A fabricated disbelief
Pull back the curtains
Took a look into your eyes
My tongue has now become
A platform for your lies
I said you got me where you want me again
And I can’t turn away
I'm hanging by a thread and I'm feelin’ like a fool
I'm stuck here in-between
The shadows of my yesterday
I want to get away
I need to get away
Now you know
Yeah you got my back against the wall
Oh God
I ain't got no other place to hide
Chained down
Like a sittin’ duck just waitin’ for the fall
You know
Yeah you got my back against the wall
Deep in the jungle
Camouflaged by all the fallen leaves
A hand holds up the sky
While shamefully I make my plea
The alter's callin’
But my legs won’t seem to stand
Guess I'm a coward
Scared to face the man I am
I said you got me where you want me again
And I can’t turn away
I'm hanging by a thread and I'm feelin’ like a fool
I'm stuck here in-between
The shadows of my yesterday
I want to get away
I need to get away
Now you know
Yeah you got my back against the wall
Oh God
I ain't got no other place to hide
Chained down
Like a sittin’ duck just waitin’ for the fall
You know
Yeah you got my back against the wall
Now you know
Yeah you got my back against the wall
Oh God
I ain't got no other place to hide
Chained down
Like a sittin’ duck just waitin’ for the fall
You know
Yeah you got my back against the wall
And now the video....
The part of this song that I like the most is the stanza about the alter is calling, but his legs won't seem to make a stand, guess I'm a coward afraid to face the man I am. He dances around beliefs in several of his songs. And this one is too. I'm just wondering what's the hidden message he's sending? Even with the In One Ear song, he talks about a hidden message. I'd be interested in what you think. If you aren't brave enough to post it as a comment feel free to private message me via email, click on the Contact link.
