Whatever you do, don't say the C word

You know, I realize that not everyone celebrates Christmas. Some folks do Kwanzaa, some do Hanukkah, some do Solstice something or another.

But why does everyone get offended when you say it. Merry Christmas! Isn't the sentiment really what matters?  Have a merry flipping day, will you? Who cares if I happen to call it Christmas. You know, even if you don't celebrate Christmas, I could still hope that on the 25th of December its a happy time for you.

If you wished me a Happy Hanukkah I wouldn't be offended. Have a wonderful summer solstice. Why should I be offended at these things? I think we've allowed too many little things to get under our skin in the hopes of being politically correct.

And it irks me that I have to worry about what Christmas cards I send out and who I might offend. Damn't have a good Christmas and quit being childish! And I'll have a damn good time on Hanukkah. All 8 days. Okay? (Yes I know its already over, focus!!!)

So I don't care if you're not Christian, I'm sending you a card anyways! Deal with it, cause it's gonna say

Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not as angry as I sound. But it does get disheartening. I like saying Merry Christmas. And I feel like I'm not allowed to say it anymore. And somehow I feel I should be offended by that because it's like my religious beliefs aren't as important as everyone else's just because mine happen to be more popular than some of the other ones out there.

So say Happy Hanukkah once in awhile - preferably when it's Hanukkah. Say Merry Christmas. And when you get dirty looks, explain your reasonings for doing what you're doing.
