Hello. My name is Allyson Hibbard.
I live in Ohio, USA, where I just recently bought a house. I've been married since 2001 and I have 2 beautiful children. I currently attend Kent State University. I am a fairly easy going person who enjoys having fun, reading, writing fiction and poetry, watching Smallville and Big Bang Theory in my spare time, doing art, and of course spending time with my family. Some of the things that interest and intrigue me are Chinese language and history, Harajuku kids (I liked them before Gwen Stefani popularized them), goths, and Christianity.
Business & Goals
I'm still fairly new to the art business game. In the summer of 2007 I decided to create my own web site and attempt to get my artwork on the net as well as try selling it. My web site has come a long way since the first version! I'm looking for new opportunities to do freelance/commissioned projects and/or get contracted employment positions.
Education & Experience
Thus far, I have graduated with my Associates degree in Arts, and I'm now going for a Bachelor's in Fine Arts with a concentration in Drawing as well as an Associate's in Computer Technology and a Bachelor's in Computer Technology with a concentration of Internet Multimedia Web Design.
As an artist I've been published in ICON magazine 6 times, and I've made the front cover twice. I have also posted my artwork on such places like deviant art, art.com, artween and myspace. Although, I eventually took my work down from art.com when I started this site. I've also had 2 pieces shown at the Art Outreach Gallery located in Niles, Ohio in September of 2007. In Spring of 2006 I won an award for Best Student Artwork.
I am currently contracted by Kent State Trumbull Theatre for several projects. I've done the advertisment artwork for 6 of their plays, and was just recently contracted for the next year. This job includes artwork for advertisements, posters, t-shirts, mailers, and the main lobby display.
